Windows comes pre-installed with a straightforward text editor called Notepad. It works well for producing very brief text documents you intend to keep in their original plain text format.
That is one of many things that can be done with it. You may be shocked by how simple Notepad is, mainly if you have not used it often. Notepad only provides a limited number of customization possibilities.
Therefore, more customization is optional. You should see options for File, Edit, Format, View, and help at the top of the window where you work. Let’s look at Notepad’s features and see what it can do for you.
Remember that Notepad is merely a text editor, even though everything should seem comfortable and familiar to you. It will not function if you attempt to copy and paste any visuals into it.
Create, Read, and Save Text Files

Find, Find Next, and Replace are the commands utilized to search and replace text inside the document, while Go-To is the power used to traverse through the paper. Suppose you wish to search for a piece of text or replace it with something else.
In that case, you may do either by selecting the Find option (accessible through the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + F) or the Replace option (accessible via the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + H).
That will cause Notepad to open a new window where the “Find what” area allows you to enter the text you are looking for. If you wish to replace text, the Replace box will also provide a field to enter what you want to replace it with.
The Word Wrap and Font options are only available via the Format menu. Word Wrap has never been enabled by default in Notepad for whatever reason that has never been discovered.
Everything you input will appear on a single long line until you hit Enter, at which point a new line will appear above the previous one. You can press Enter when your typing is about to approach the right edge of the Notepad window. However, doing so will cause the lines to be of a random length and vary depending on your window size.
You may also generate HTML files by using the Notepad program. Ensure that the Word Wrap option is selected, and then input your HTML code the same way you would type ordinary text.
When it’s time to save your work, go to the File menu, choose Save As, and select All Files from the list of options. Then, choose either the.htm or.html extension when you save your work.
Notepad is a desktop application that has been available for quite some time and continues to help create simple text and HTML. There are times when that is all that is required.
